Banana, Mango & Blueberry Smoothie
This smoothie is one of my favourite things on my new diet – it is like a Snow-freeze Ice-cream, smooth and almost frozen. I put in a blender, frozen sliced bananas, mango and blueberries and any other frozen fruit in the freezer like strawberries; raspberries; plums or black currents. Combined with Oat milk or if I don’t have any a bit of water to get the blender going. Five minutes later a delicious nutritious detox facilitating smoothie is made! These smoothies are brilliant to have after the Cilantro juice, to help with detoxing. Enjoy!
My Morning régime
Upon waking up I have 1 litre (32oz) of Lemon Water, which is freshly squeezed lemon juice (1 lemon) and 1 litre (32oz) water with 1 tablespoon of honey.

500ml Celery Juice:
Then after I’ve drunk the lemon water, 30 mintes later, I juice celery to have 500mls only. I let this settle for 30 minutes to do it’s job to go through all my organs detoxing.

During this 30 minutes I make my Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie. I get my 200mls of frozen Cilantro juice that I made a few days ago.
I just blended all the leaves, stems and roots with 500mls of water. Once it is all blended up into a smooth consistency I poured it into a cloth bag to filter the juice into a jars. Then popped it into the freezer. I make enough for 7 days.
Heavy Detox Smoothie:
In the blender I add 1 Orange, 2 bananas, 1 teaspoon of: Spirulina, Barley Grass Powder, 2 cups blueberries, to my 200mls of Cilantro, 1 tablespoon of Pacific Harvest Dulse Flakes, taking all those heavy metals out of the organs.

The ‘Why’ of it all
As you know, I suffer Rheumatoid Arthritis. This disease has controlled significant parts of my life since 1997 and through a lot of awful, forced life changing experiences coping with it, I have decided it is time to do the impossible. Eradicate this awful disease from my body.
I have had so many operations, I almost make a tune through airport control/customs. I have had both knees replaced, bunions on left and right feet, a Calcaneal Osteotomy [The purpose of a calcaneal osteotomy is to shift the heel bone towards the inside (medial) or outside (lateral)] on my left foot, silicon kunckle replacements in 3 fingers due to boutonniere deformity. As well as the knuckles removed in my toes due to this same deformity.
Time to take charge and a leap of faith in this new decade of possibilities. I did an even more ‘mission impossible’ in 2007 surviving Bone Cancer (Chondroblastic Osteosarcoma) – no reason why I can not achieve eliminating Arthritis as well.
I have decided to follow a similar diet but more strict than I did in 2007 and going Vegan with Organic foods by following the recommendations from Anthony Williams of http://www.medicalmedium.com. My following posts will take you on my journey from being a meat lover to a Vegan and all the little changes along the way.

The Best News Ever
November 13th 2007
Well, as you may / may not of known two months ago I had a c.t. scan of my lungs to see if there were any secondary tumors in my lungs. Well, on September the 11th I had a consult with my Oncologist and she said “things do not look great with multiple nodules on my lungs”. As you can imagine my life turned upside down.
News is, I had a c.t. scan last Thursday, visited my Oncologist today to be told no multiple nodules to be found. I have clean lungs ! Well, apart from one nodule at 3mm and one at 5mm and have not changed shape, size or form in the time period that, they would have over the past two months I have been going through hell. If anyone needs an excuse to have a beer and celebrate for me, this is it and do consume as many as you wish !! I will celebrate very soon I think. !
On the way home my friend and I played Queens Song, It’s A Beautiful Day and sang it at the top of our lungs.
I now can look forward to working on some unfinished business back in Taupo and get across that Ironman finish line perhaps, and perhaps one day hear Mike Reilly say “You. Are. An Ironman!”
The sad news (well it is all good news really l.o.l) is, I have to go and find a job for goodness sake !
On that note, I better go and do some research ! :)) But I want to leave you with this song by Louis Armstrong which encapsulates how I feel about the world right now and from this day on. (Just click on the the picture)

September / October
October 2, 2007
Well what ghastly news I had on all days of the year, which is a sad day no one will forget, 11th September.
well…….. I want to apologise for not being in touch lately as you know I got some freaky news a month ago…….. (nodules on the lungs). I am staying focused and positive as my guru orthopedic surgeon in Auckland said it doesn’t make sense.
The crux of it all is, no one knows.
Until they do a fine needle aspirate biopsy of these nodules no one will know. I am going to request this (and try to be polite instead of demanding….) when I see my oncologist on the 13th Nov. I have my c.t. scan on the 8th to reveal all or nothing. I am getting this done on the luckiest day of the month in the Chinese world, 8 is a very lucky number. Therefore being the positive person i am, this is a good omen :))
I am also investing hundreds of dollars in a glyconutrient product for nutrition of a very high calibre – the 8 Miracle sugars and is all based from GlycoBiology – which helps your 600 trillion cells (roughly) in your body be healthy, get fixed and attack all evil.
I am also only eating (easier than saying what I can’t eat l.o.l) broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, onions, kumara, spinach, silverbeet, cabbage, lettuce, beetroot, dates, figs, raisins, currents, almonds, avocado dried coconut, so I swap from a salad to steamed veg. These are all organic as well. I am having an alkaline diet so I look on this chart to make sure all foods I eat are alkaline. I have also put in a Reverse Osmosis water purification plant under my sink ($1000 odd) so I only drink the purest cleanest water and put no chemicals on my body like makeup, or moisturisers or soaps – everything is organic as in food, toothpaste and soap liquid.Another thing I am doing is knitting a pair of socks. I have always loved knitting jumpers and read in a book to do something creative to take your mind of things and I found knitting a good escape funnily enough. Knitting socks was a challenge and something I had never knitted before and poor Mum got countless questions helping me through the knitting pattern. I had to use 3 small needles – the thinnest needles I have seen and made out of bamboo – this of course made a small stitch which proceeded to take a long time before my knitting resembled a ‘sock’ . Focusing on one stitch at a time I soon lost myself in this process and I was able to forget about my current situation.
Training
September 20th 2007
Oh god, I am hanging out for the largest steak, rib roast, bread/toast, and wine !!! oh, to be normal. How the blazes these true vegans have fun is beyond me !
I also am starting a new training programme (tried last week but got a poxy cold) so I will hit the ground running on Tuesday. My programme goes like this: (oh, have bought a swiss ball and have 1kg and 2kg dumbbells from a mate)
each day I do something different. It goes like this:
Day One:
6 pages of swiss ball exercises (core muscle strength exercises) – 20/30 exercises doing reps of 10
Day Two:
Endurance – 30m to 1 hour of wind training
Day Three
Weights – 1kg and 2kg dumbbell exercises
Day 4
Interval Training on wind trainer – 5m warm up, then, for 30 sec up to 2m, then, rest for 30 sec or 2 minutes – this repeated continually for 20m then 5m warm down
Then repeat the above. Sunday is a rest day :))
Well your pretty much up to date now :)) I am about to pack my car to head up to our wee bach for the weekend with my Brother (he will be there Friday) also, I have to see Mum in hospital (she almost died July 13 being in i.c.u and h.d.u, they amputated her leg and now is driving around in a groovy electronic wheelchair and gets discharged to go home tomorrow – it is so, so cool), then pick up some more expensive nutritional product and then beach, sun and surf here I come !!
Oncologist Appointment
September 11th, 2007
I know this is going to be a bad day. Today I brought my Sister and Boyfriend and my good friend with me as support.
The Oncologist had a quietness about her I didn’t like. She said things are not good, showed me the scans which I seriously couldn’t decipher good from bad. Then my oncologist asked I wanted to know the Percentage to survive and I said “no!” she then asked if I wanted to know the odds and I said “no!” and just put my head in my hands and left the rest of the consult to my Sister. I did not want to hear any more and just switch off to the whole world…………………………………. All I could see was just a blackness shrouding over me …
C.T. Scan of lungs
September 2nd 2007
Saw my doctor in Auckland last week and still have another cast on my arm to the 25th September…………. yee-gods, my arm is so gonna be so skinny by then having been in a cast since the 25th of May….. will just have to buy an obscenely expensive bangle for it and that’s all there is to it 🙂
Today I have my scan and am a bit nervous but hopeful everything will be ok
24th August 2007
Well my last chemo was on the 20th July yeeeha, it is all finished. now just fighting my creatinine levels which are at 198 and should be under 100. ( rrrr) I might end up in hospital get a sht load of fluid yet for three or four days – depending on next weeks blood test. Am so sick of drinking 3 – 4 litres of water and getting no sleep and almost sleep walking to the bathroom every 2 hours.
with a low haemoglobin I can only do one task a day as it flattens me out and are so low in energy – feel like I am walking through tar to get things done and a fatigue and malaise that continues through the day is just hideous and just need to lie down all day – such a sloth it is horrific. I am so worried I will be still tired by October to go back to work – I need a rapid improvement on this creatinine issue as I want to go to the beach for two weeks rest and switch off to the whole world. Being tired, nauseous, headaches is getting very boring………
